Some varieties include Baby’s Tears, a dense, evergreen perennial, or of course, everyone’s favourite, water lilies. Azola in this area blooms seasonally, and while a pest in other climates, it visits us in spring and is gone by summer, leaving behind a cleaner pond than you had before. Moss is a slow grower, but it’s a spectacular addition to any pond as it softens the edges until, under its canopy, you can’t tell where the land ends and your pond begins.
